A whipping ritual

For me, a whipping means punishment. Formal and painful punishment. So I think that the ritual should be such as the ones used to punish criminals for most of human history.

I will write as if the punished was a woman, for avoiding the s/hes and him/hers.

The scene should begin with the culprit properly dressed. A man could be barefoot, with only trousers and a shirt just thrown over the shoulders. A woman could be barefoot and dressed with one of those light cotton dresses buttoned at the back, with no bra under it and with a long skirt, showing only the ankles and feet.

The victim should be handcuffed at the front. The old iron fetters are the best choice (they can be found in the Internet’s BDSM shops), but if you don’t have them, a chain locked on each wrist with a short length left between the hands could do. Of course, you could also use a rope, if that’s what you have. You could bind the same way her feet. (But leave a long chain between them, for allowing her walking without tripping over)

The sub should be made to stand in front of the top, as if standing before a judge. The top could be seated behind a desk, or a table, for making it more formal. She should hear the list of her “crimes”, why she should obey the rules, how she should behave in the future and the sentence: how many lashes will be given, and when (at least a couple of hours later is best). It should, of course, be long and formal.

When finished, the culprit should be taken by the arm and forcibly to “jail”, closed alone in another room, the smaller the best (it could be a well-ventilated closet or a bathroom), and still fettered, for waiting for the punishment. Of course, the prisoner should have no clock, no way of knowing the time. What if you left her sitting on the floor, chained to something?

The time “jailed”, waiting for the pain of the lashes on your bare back, especially if you know that the punishment will hurt, is delicious. The anticipation, the fear. The time stretches as if made from rubber. And you will try to hear the outside noises, trying to know when the executioner will come. After some time, the top could walk near the “jail’s” door, maybe even moving the handle of the door’s lock, making the culprit think that the time arrived, and then leave. He could also open the door for checking on the prisoner, leaving again without a word.

When the time finally comes, the culprit should be pushed to the room where the sentence will be paid. She will then be tied to a “post” (a column) the “cross” (a couple of hooks on the wall could do) between two posts (or the like) or even to a ladder used as a triangle. Then the executioner should take off the man’s shirt, or open the back of the woman’s dress, leaving her back and shoulders bare.

This is the moment for the top looking for the weapon to be used, calmly warming up his arm and testing the whip. Hit against something several times, for her to hear the noise, giving her time to imagine the pain of the lashes on her back. There is no hurry; she will not go anywhere.

And then, finally, the flogging. As it is a punishment, it should be no warm up. Hit hard (within reason) from the first lash. Take your time between blows, giving her time to feel all the pain of the blow, and to anticipate that of the next one. You could count.

 

You could also use some of the variations, especially giving the rhythm.

After the flogging, the culprit could be left tied there for half an hour or more, as was used in the actual punishments for showing the results of the whipping to the crowd in a public punishment. Let her enjoy in an uncomfortable position the pain on her back.

If you want to make it still harder, send her to “jail” after the exhibition, handcuffed and chained to the wall again. A couple more hours will help the punishment sink deeper. And then, of course, the pardon, the caresses, the hugging and kissing that should follow all scenes.
