Then is the moment of getting the exact position you want. Be picky,
-Open your legs. More.
The opened legs not only make clenching more difficult, (clenching takes out some of the sting of the cut, but makes for more internal damage) it also improves the view from the rear, for your pleasure. You can also tap with the point of the cane inside the thighs, for encouraging the pupil to obey.
-Knees straight. (Touch with the cane the back of the knees).
-Present your buttocks properly.
-Arc your back.
- Head up (making the culprit look at the front arches the back, forcing her to offer the buttocks in a better position).
-Feet pointing inwards (this prevents the sub clenching the buttocks)
And so on, until you are satisfied (and your bottom is a nervous wreck).
Instruct the pupil not to rise until given permission, not to rub her bottom, and not to loose the position, unless she wants extra cuts.
When she is in the right position, go choose the cane (if you have more than one), make each of them (or the only one) swish in the air, practice a little. (The ominous sound of a cane hitting something is the last thing your bottom wants to hear).
Time is in your side. Your bottom wants the punishment to proceed, but you can enjoy the nervousness, the fear, the view.
When you are satisfied about the cane, tap it on the subs buttocks. It not only helps in taking aim, also in elevating the tension of the scene. Tap once, twice.
Then, slowly, draw back the cane, stop a moment (for the benefit of anticipation), and then hit. How to hit is discussed in Six of the best.

If the culprit loses position (or does not recover it after a while, if the caning is severe she will loose position), begin again:
-Bend.
-Knees straight
-Unclench the buttocks, feet pointing inwards
etc, etc, etc. If she doesn’t obey, extra cuts.
Wait for the pain to develop. Tap again, two, three times. Maybe after retiring the cane, instead of hitting, change your mind and aim again. And then another cut. Remember that she cannot move, or rise.
The last cut is critical. Make her notice that this will be the last. If it is hard, and knowing that the punishment is over, she will probably rise and rub her bottom, earning some extra cuts. On the other side, the show of a girl dancing in pain, with her face contorted and teary eyes, and rubbing her buttocks is something worth seeing, if you are a little of a sadist.
When finished, let her bending for some minutes, enduring the rising pain.
When finally released, she should stand with her hands on her head, don’t let her rub, what she needs desperately. Send her to a corner with the skirt up and the panties down, showing her glowing backside. Enjoy the view and the wriggling.
At home, instead of sending the pupil to the headmaster's office, the anticipation is produced by sending her to her bedroom and making her wait for you dressed, for instance, in a particular way (suppose, only nightgown and panties, for having the pleasure of pulling them down before the punishment), or by making her look for and bring back the instrument, or by delaying the punishment to bedtime, or to the next morning, or maybe to the weekend. (Friday is a favorite for delayed punishments or for retribution for all of the week’s misdeeds).
The rest of the procedure should be the same as in the school punishment.
After some time in the corner, when she had some time for recovering, you should make her ask for pardon, and promise that she is going to try harder to behave, and then hug and caress her, and let her know that she is forgiven, and that you love her. As this ritual is for punishment, there should be no sex as an after play. Sex should be a reward, not part of a punishment.
