"At home, my father has, even today, and old belt hanging for a wall of the room he used as a workshop. He belted me for the first time when I was about 6, but more frequently from 9 to 16, and the last time was when I was 18, just before finishing school.

I have brothers and, being the younger and a girl, my parents didn’t give me permission for going out frequently, so the only way I had was slipping out.

My father didn’t always noticed it, but he did a couple of times, and then he didn’t say anything at the moment, but the next morning I learnt that he knew everything, and he forced me to say the truth, where and with whom I was.

Then he called my brothers, and he took us to the workshop. They saw my punishments, and I saw theirs, I suppose that it was a way to tell us “this is going to happen to you if you misbehave”.

Then he lowered my clothes, bent me under his arm and held me by the waist. I was mostly beaten like that, but my brothers sometimes had just to bend, letting their buttocks up and ready.

Then, he took the belt and lashed my buttocks and thighs until he thought it was enough.

Then he sent us to our rooms, and, I don’t know why, but I checked how red my buns were.

I don’t know how many lashes I was given, it should have been something like 5 to 10, but I’ll tell you that my father was a strong hitter. They were enough for me to remember the lashing for several days. "

"I’ll tell you the rituals used at home when I had to be punished.

When the one who punished me was my mother, after I was at fault, she used to call me “Come here Laura”. When she was going to hit me, she called me Laura.

 

Sometimes I answered, as if I didn’t know what was happening, “What do you want?” She would call me again and I would go there.

 

She would pull my ears and take me to my room or to the yard. If I was taken to my room, she would hit me with the slipper, if I was taken to the yard, with a rod.

 

She used to give me 3 lashes and then scold me “This is what I send you to the school for, for bringing back only zeros ⁽¹⁾” or “I told you to wash your clothes and you did nothing”. The scold was followed by 10 to 12 lashes more, and then I was sent to my room.

When the punisher was my father, he would just take his belt (only in two spankings, he used his hand, and he once hit me with that hateful belt’s buckle), and then we would come to me.

 

He just ordered me to turn around, and the punishment began. He gave me 6 or seven lashes, with the last stronger, which left my butt red and me sniveling.

I was punished, as an average, twice a week, from when I was 6 to until I was 16.
