Sally rod (English) In Ireland, a willow switch (sally is the willow's common name there)
Sanmartin (Spanish)(Peru) A whip, about 2 1/2 feet long, made from twisted or braided leather strips, with three or four short tails formed by leaving the end of the strips unbraided. I was also called chicote or berguita. It was a traditional domestic punishment instrument in Peru. It was called sanmartin from the Peruvian Saint, because it was told to "work miracles" on kids...
