Pala de sacudir alfombras (Spanish) Rug beater. The ones made with wicker were used for punishment.

Pálca (Hungarian) Rod
Paleta (Spanish) Paddle. A wooden instrument that consists of a handle and a flat wooden piece used for rowing, for several games, and for children's punishment. For this last use, they can also be made of leather or rubber.

Palmatória (Portuguese) Ferule. It can be made of wood or rubber, with or without five holes.

Palmatoria (Spanish) Palmeta.
Palmeta (Spanish) (from palm of the hand) A short flat slab of wood used for punish children by beating them in their hands. (Ferule) - Paddle with one side covered by pitch, to which ground glass was attached, used for punishment by religious flagellants.
