Abaíchagle (Caribe)

For the Caribe indians, crop, whip 
Acial (Spanish)(Central America and Ecuator). Whip used for stimulating animals. Coach driver's whip.
Aerial (English) The telescopic car or radio aerials were used for punishment as a severe rod.

Alaka (Arabic) Coathanger.  Very popular at home, especially the plastic ones.
Alambre (Spanish) (Lit: wire) (Ecuador) extension cable used for punishments
Almeta (Spanish) (Spain) Pitch covered wooden paddle. Smalll pointed pieces of glass were added to the pitch. Used by the flagellants.
Alpargata (Spanish)A  hemp or jute soled canvas sandal. It was used for domestic punishments in French and Spanish speaking countries where it is a commonly used footwear.

A long hunting whip with a short wooden handle and a hemp tail.  Used to control the dogs.

Arreador (Portuguese)In the gaúcho area of Brazil, arreador
Arreador (Spanish)(Arg., Bol., Col., Par., Perú and Ur., from Sp. arrear, to herd) Whip with a short handle and a long thong used for herding cattle.  In Argentina the thong is usually plaited, ending in a fall. It is typically about 1 yd. long. See article

Azote (Spanish) (From Spanish Arabic assáwt, Arabic sawt). Punishment instrument made with knotted cords, sometimes with metal or bone at the points, used for punishing criminals. Generically, whip with several tails. Also means a stroke (with any instrument, even the hand). Is the Spanish equivalent for scourge
Azotera (Spanish) The two ends of the reins, left after the knot that holds them together, are used for whipping a horse when no riding whip is available. Also the last portion of a whip
Açoite (Portuguese)Whip. Leather strap pending from a handle, used to punish. Scourge
