Another kind of domestic discipline. It is usually formal. A cane, strap
or birch rod could be used, over clothing or on the bare, hands on knees or
ankles or bent over the bed or a table. S/he could also hit with a ruler or
a strap on the hands. Only small children would go over the lap.
If the governess is French, she would surely use a martinet or a tape-tapis.
If she is German, she would be very, very strict and use a cane or a riding
crop, and she will talk with a heavy California Governor’s accent. (Did we
mention stereotypes?).
The English tutors and governesses are famous for their use of the rod, and
they would use the cane or the birch (see the
cane's ritual ).
Some waiting before and some corner (or kneeling) time after are almost
mandatory.
The tutor and the children should dress formally, according to the period
chosen.
Here again the Punishment ritual
could be used.

You parents must go out of town, and decide to leave you in care of a neighbor. You like the neighbor, because she is a sweet old woman (or a sweet old man) (or maybe a gorgeous young woman or a handsome young man) and s/he likes you. All could go fine, but s/he is in your parents place, and she is very severe and will not take nonsense. All the ingredients of domestic discipline, but with almost a stranger. The neighbor will have his/her rules, and you must obey or finish over the knees, in a corner or kneeling. Or all that.
Any gender combinations are possible (even when in the real world, no parent would leave their girl with a handsome young man, just in case. But of course, this is not the real world.)
Suppose you are members of a primitive culture, maybe at the Stone Age
level. Life as it could have been for a couple of hunters and gatherers
10.000 years ago. Or even today, living in a far off place in the middle of
nowhere at the Amazon, in Africa, or the like. Of course, the dominant is a
brute, almost simian, with no respect for his/her companion. Slaps,
beatings, rough sex doggy style for only the dominant’s satisfaction, hard
work, you name it. And no words, just grunts, growls and teeth showing.
This is good for playing outdoors, on an improvised shelter (branches and
leaves are better, but an anachronistic canvas can do), and cooking on a
bonfire.
And sure a strong Stone Age woman could dominate a man.
The man and woman scantily dressed in furs (there are synthetic
furs nowadays, even if they don’t smell the same), or in rags (burlap is
adequate, even if perhaps anachronistic) and barefoot (they could go even
nude).
