Copying from a book

Copying lines from a boring book. You can make the culprit copy several pages (from a dictionary, for instance), or you can choose a passage (maybe significant for the fault), and make her copy it again and again.

Not only the results should be neat, and with good handwriting, but the copy should be carefully checked against the original, for finding some justification for spanking her. (Why do I always come back to that?).

Another possibility: put the book to be copied far (perhaps in another room). She must go to the book, read, and come back to the desk for copying. And beware of the errors...

Reading lines

Make her repeat aloud a line for some established time period. The voice level should be even and the articulations clear for all the length of the punishment. She can be standing or kneeling. Repeating for 15 minutes, for instance, “I should not be naughty” can be a truly educational experience.

Reading a (boring) book is equivalent, be it reading several pages or just a paragraph repeated over and over, but she will have to hold it, which will become harder and harder.

Recitation

Make her learn by heart a passage from a book or a poem, and afterwards make her repeat it from memory. You could set a time limit for the learning.

You could make her learn the passage one day, and tell her that she would have to be able to recite it any time you ask for the rest of the week. (Try awakening her in the middle of the night and checking her memory).

Check the recitation with the book, and punish every error.

Another possibility: make her kneel with the book on her hands until she says she knows the text. Then, take the book from her and test her knowledge. If she fails, give her the book again. She will not get up until passing the test. (After some time, the distraction from the pain on her knees will make very difficult for her to learn).
