The Yoke

The yoke is a good punishment device.

 

You can use stocks as a yoke,

 

 

but, lacking one, a makeshift yoke can be improvised easily.

 

You only need a thick rod and three rope lengths.  Any rod can be used, wooden, plastic, metal, a curtain rod, a broom's handle (or similar, a piece of pipe, or a wooden dowel bought for this use). If you buy it, I prefer it being over 1 inch diameter.

 

Just tie one of the cords by the middle to the center of a wooden dowel. You could use just a lark's head.

 

 

Put it centered on the back of the punished's neck, resting as much as possible on the shoulders, pass each cord to the front at it's side of the neck and again to the back down the opposite armpit, tying both ends there. It's easier to see it, so:

 

 

Then tie one hand to each end of the dowel.

 

Do not tie the yoke to the punished's neck. There is a serious risk of chocking her, and very little defense against breaking her neck if she falls down. And do not put pressure on the front of the neck (you will restrict breathing) or to the sides (you could restrict blood circulation). Both can kill very fast.

 

If you want to make it harder, tie the hands to the back of the dowel, forcing the arms and shoulders backwards.

 

 

This way is also useful for (somewhat harshly) correcting position problems, because she will have to be very straight and with the shoulders back.

 

You can also use this position, even if it is not exactly a yoke:

 

 

Try variations:

 

• Make her stand in the yoke
• Make her kneel yoked
• With a collar and leash, take her for a walk around the house
• Just let her sit and watch TV at your side
• Put a weight at each of the yoke's ends (a couple of buckets with water, or two bags or something similar) (this could be done without tying her, with the yoke just on her shoulders and holding it with her hands)
• With the hands tied at the front of the dowel, make her lay on her back on the floor or on a bed. It is very difficult to stand up when tied to a yoke (only help her to lay dawn, because she could receive a nasty and dangerous blow if she tries to do it for herself).
• A heavy pole or log makes the punishment harder, if she has to stand or kneel under the weight. But I suggest not tying it. If she tips over, she could get hurt or brake her neck.
• Grey Master gives us another variation for the yoke. Tie each end of the dowel to the corresponding ankle with a short rope (or chain for the noise), so she has to crouch. You can make her just stand so, or make her walk. As the position is awkward, and it easy to lose balance and fall, don’t tie the yoke to her, make her just hold it over her shoulders (if she falls with her arms tied she could hurt herself, and as the bound yoke restricts her neck movements, it could break).
